Great views from accommodation overlooking part of the city.
Plenty of stairs in this city, most I tried to avoid
Hearty breakfasts in quaint (below ground) out of the way places was welcome before heading out and about for the day.(rear plate held haggis, lorne sausage, black pudding and scottish potato scone. Mine was vegetarian with a soy sausage (bleh!) BTW, I love haggis. Just know you want to know all this :)
I like a bit o' kilt with ma piper
Just no tellin' where you might find a scot in these parts
Loved the Royal Mile which these days is a popular tourist shopping precinct but also filled with history and alleyways and beautiful old Cathedrals and buildings. The Royal Mile is the Old Town straight, direct line from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace which is the Queens official residence when in Scotland.
...........love my chimneys
St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile left me...... well let's say I was pleased to have tissues on board
Holyrood Palace greeted us at the end of the Royal Mile and what a sight it was
.............stayed tuned for Part 2, (views from Scott's Monument overlooking Princess Street, gardens and city.
