The trip north to first night's accommodation at Crianlarich was stunning. Snow capped mountains, and Loch Lomond on the rght for miles and miles. The beauty was intoxicating. I was overwhelmed - I was in The Highlands! (well officially I had been for quite some time!)
The cabin at Crianlarich with soaring mountains as a backdrop and after booking in headed off for a wonderful walk on the woodland path hills which fortunately commenced just across the road and overlooked the railway bridge over the River Fillan
enjoy this 'small' selection of what I saw on the first day
stunning scenery all the way to Crianlarich
following Loch Lomond seemingly forever...
arriving a little early for check-in at the Lodge, I headed further on to the quaint village of Killin situated at the western head of Loch Tay, with the Falls of Dochart which run through the centre of town.
on the way back to the Lodge, a stopping point at Loch Tay and some ruins of unknown origin
...arriving Ben More Lodge and getting settled in
heading off on to the Crianlarich woodland path in the hills across from the lodge
.. heading back down from the hills to cross town and over to the River Fillan
...hard to believe, its late afternoon..... in the Scottish Highlands and I'm getting hot!
Hoodoo from the stunning area of Crianlarich in the The Highlands of Scotland
stayed tuned for Day 2!
