Solo return to Conwy town

Loved my day shopping in Conwy today. Getting pretty slick at catching these trains too. The highlight today was finding St Mary's Church in the centre of the village shopping district. I ventured up a narrow alley and there it stood in all its old splendour. I shopped but mainly browsed, chatted with a few people and eventually trained it back to Colwyn Bay around mid afternoon. The Castle looked the same - hadn't changed a bit since yesterday.

When I alighted from the train I didnt expect to find myself almost at the door of St Michael's RC Church and at the Calvary, the Sculpture depicting Christ on the cross. The 12 Stations of the Cross set into the medieval walls of the town to the left (pic of me standing on top in yesterday's post) All 13 depictions are made from Italian marble and the setting outdoors is quite rare and very beautiful up close.

...I spy someone's gorgeous back garden down a narrow Close in the middle of town

...I was most surprised to see a large Mountain Warehouse store as I have purchased a couple of items online from them and they never charged me any postage from the UK!

...love the town walls (you cant avoid them they are everywhere) and talk about photo opportunity - no people in the pic!!

...like I said the Castle hasn't changed a bit since yesterday

... the old man in the Clock shop wasn't a chatter-box but was pretty chuffed to show off his rarest clocks

.. and through the alley I spied St Mary's

... I assumed it was not open, until I saw a couple enter. I followed.

...I was saddened to learn it is not often open due to vandalism and theft of artefacts in the past
... thank you St Marys, and volunteer for being open and welcoming me today
... have no idea where several hours went but it was time to walk to the station, bypassing the many edible gardens from which you may help yourself

... I know I'm on the right platform
...and its not this train - wrong direction! I know these things.
 ... pretty stonework yes?
...yes yes, this is the one I want, even though the board says its for Birmingham Int airport....

thank you Conwy town of castle, walls, shops and Churches for a beaut day
