Climb every mountain and the hills are alive

The met office promised a sunny day with a high of 17 degrees - perfect...
...there is Allt wen mountain, - that is my puffed-up-with-confidence stance....hmm

....first little black dot is me! and NO that nice looking path only gets you to the base of the climb, then its a goat track up

...I start snapping

...this is the reality of the track up to the summit and as I eyed it suspiciously my confidence plummeted. It is not the climb up that bothers me at all, its the descent because of the menieres and I knew without much thought that this could be a very hairy one for me.

It was too dangerous on the track to take many pictures but some from the top are ok

 - trust me it is steeper than it looks

...here's a pretty one looking down the valley just as I commenced the ascent

... 60 feet from the summit I knew I wouldn't make it  - by a lousy 60 feet!   Well done me!

......view from the summit

...(you can just see me)

coming down from the highest part and although still high its a small level area at the cliff edge near the lane out and it's very popular as it overlooks the valley toward the quaint village of Capelulo and another Fairy glen.

... being very brave at the cliff edge

.. my Merrell hiking boots have sure got me to some amazing places, no sign of fatigue with them

Will this be my last mountain?
Climb every mountain if you can ~ no matter how big or small
and the hills are alive ~ with pretty purple heather if you look closely.
